Serhiy Dushnyuk

Serhiy Dushnyuk began his musical career in 1994 at the age of 12, when he enrolled at the Tchaikovsky Music School No. 1 in Rivne, Ukraine. He studied there under the guidance of Professor of Trumpet, Mykola Dzyaduk. During the course year of 1997/1998 he finished his studies with a final grade of 18 points out of . Between the years of 1998-2001, Serhiy continued his studies at the Music College of Rivne, Ukraine, under the guidance of French Horn Professor Borys Vlasyuk. While enrolled at the Academy, he has completed his practical training at the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of Rivne during the academic years of 1999/2000 and 2000/2001.
In 2001, after graduating with a Summa Cum Laude from the Music College of Rivne, he has enrolled at the Lviv Academy of Music in the Ukraine under the supervision of Professor Stepan Kysylevich. In 2005 he has graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the Lviv Academy. In 2005 he won 1st place in the National Competition of Wind Instruments in Ukraine. In 2006, after just one year of studies, Serhiy has finished his Masters studies with excellence at the Lviv Academy of Music, receiving the following qualifications: Professor of French Horn, Artist of Orchestra, Conductor of Wind Orchestra and Performer.
Throughout his studies, Serhiy has also actively participated in numerous additional musical seminars and continued his practical training with different Symphonies, Orchestras and Bands in Ukraine, Portugal, Poland , Austria among other places. At different points of his career he has taken part in many National and International Music Competitions either as a solo competitor or along with his colleagues as part of a Symphony, an Orchestra or a Band.
Between the years of 2005 and 2008 Serhiy was a member of the Lviv Symphony Orchestra in the Ukraine, when he toured many countries in Europe and the Middle East.
During the Academic year of 2009/2010 he served as a Professor at the Music Academy of Lagos in Portugal.
Since 2011, Serhiy holds private and group classes as Professor of French Horn at the Conservatory of Music in Cascais ( Lisbon), Portugal. He regularly is invited to particiate in different performances with the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Cascais and Oeiras, the Algarve Orchestra and many others.
