Oliver Lakota

Oliver Lakota was born in Passau. He studied at the Anton Bruckner University Linz and later with Bo Nilsson in Malmö (Sweden). He deepened his studies at numerous concerts and took part in another program at the University of the Arts in Bremen with famous Baroque virtuoso Otto Sauter. Since 2001 intensive soloist throughout Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Spain, Romania, Serbia, Mexico, Japan and Turkey.
During his tour he performs with orchestras of reputation such as the Radio Symphony Orchestra Pilsen, the “Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México”, the famous “Cappella Istropolitana”, the “Camerata Wratislavia”, the Philharmonic Orchestras of Oradea and Brasov, the Mexican Orquestra Sinfónica UANL in Monterrey, the Russian Academic Symphony Voronezh Orchestra, the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, the “Vienna International Orchestra”, and several times in gala concerts of the Master Concerts St. Pölten, the Tyrolean autumn winds, or the famous “Festival international de Órgano de Morelia” in Mexico.
Oliver Lakota has been invited for years to many international music festivals to Showcase his baroque, classical and contemporary repertoire to a wide audience. He is a regular guest at the “Halbturner Schlosskonzerte”, in “Music & Arts Festival” in Baden Württemberg, the Märkischen Music Festival in Potsdam, the Festival “Piano echoes” in Piemont or in the context of church concert series in the church of Saint Martin in Paris, the Epiphany Church Dresden and in Passau Cathedral St. Stephan.
Annual concerts in Japan with the known classical multi-artist Robert Lehrbaumer from Vienna have nearly become confirmed habit.
A very successful chamber music collaboration, which was presented to the public in numerous concerts throughout Europe, was created by the highly talented pianist Veronika Böhmova of Praha.
In 2014, Oliver Lakota made his debut in the United States at Carnegie Hall in New York. In his home town of Passau, he performed as a soloist for the first time within the framework of the festival “European Weeks Passau”, in association with the Radio Symphony Orchestra Pilsen.
Oliver Lakota is also in demand as a soloist in contemporary music and their world premieres. The Viennese composer Johann Simon Kreuzpointner composed several works for him – e.g. a three-movement sonata for trumpet and organ, the Sonata “porta itineri longissima est”. In 2014 a multi-movement orchestral suite will arise, whose premiere is planned in spring 2015.
