Jerzy Kosek
I was born on 16th of April 1960 in Orneta, Poland.

I graduated high school of music in Olsztyn and next, I graduated with the first-class honours degree of Academy of Music in Katowice at professor Karol Stryja’s conducting class.

I continued my education in Berlin at professor Olaf Koch’s class and in Vienna at professor Karl Ősterreicher’s and professor Vaclav Neumann’s classes.

I am the laureate of III International Conductors Competition in Katowice (1987), awarded at VI International Conductors Competition in Budapest (1989), a finalist of I International Conductors Competition in Jerusalem (1995).

I have conducted most of symphony and chamber orchestras in Poland and also in Germany, Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, Hungary, Ukraine, previous Jugoslavia, Venesuela, Israel, Portugal, China Republic, the USA (also in Carnegie Hall, New York).

I have recorded 13 CDs, the film music, also music for Polish, Jewish, American, Yugoslavian radio and TV.

In 1985, I started conducting The Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice.
From 1990 to 1999, I acted the General and Artistic Director of The Częstochowska Philharmonic in Częstochowa.
From 1999 to 2003, I was the General and Artistic Director of The Warminsko-Mazurska Philharmonic in Olsztyn.
From 2000 to 2004, I acted the Artistic Director of The Koszalinska Philharmonic in Koszalin.
From 2004 to 2006 I was the Artistic Director of The Podkarpacka Philharmonic in Rzeszów.
From 2010 I was the General and Artistic Director of The Sudeten Philharmonic in Wałbrzych.
Now I am Prinzipal Conductor of the Sudeten Philharmonic Orchestra.
