Inês studied Singing at the National Conservatory of Music in Lisbon (Portugal) and did a Pos-Graduation at the Flanders Operastudio Gent (Belgium).
In opera, she performed Dido (Dido and Aeneas/Purcell), Lisinga (Le Cinese/Gluck), Dritte Dame (Die Zauberflöte/Mozart), Narrator in Ned Rorem’s Fables, Amastre (Serse/Handel), Frau Peachum and Jenny (Die Dreigroschenoper/Kurt Weill), Carmen in an adaptation of Peter Brook Bizet’s Carmen (La Tragédie de Carmen), Elisa (La Spinalba/F.A. de Almeida), Joana in Jorge Salgueiro’s Saga (world premier), Rosinha in Jorge Salgueiro’s Orquídea Branca (world premier), Hanna in Vasco Mendonça’s Jerusalém (world premier), Luggrezia (Lo Frate ‘nnamorato/Pergolesi), several roles in Luis Bragança Gil’s musical/opera Deus Pátria Revolução; Serena (A Morte do Palhaço/Raul Brandão and José M. Branco); Deuladeu in Jorge Salgueiro’s DeuLaDeu (world premier); Princess Nature (Planeta Tupi/Pessoa Junior), “Woman” in Michael Kohlhaas (world premiere) and Protestant in Apokalypse (world premiere), both from Ulrich Rasche, Mother (Il Sogno del Zingano/António Miró), Narrator in Noite Inquieta (world premiere) and Cléo in Paternel (world premiere), both from Frank Nuyts; Child (Ver e Ler, O Hipopótamo/Jorge Salgueiro), Rosa (Alda/João O. Zúquete) and Carmelita (Dialogues des Carmelites/Francis Poulenc).
In Theatre, she had several projects with Teatro O Bando, such has Saga-Ópera Extravagante; Pino do Verão and Quarentena, music by Jorge Salgueiro and A Morte do Palhaço music by José Mário Branco, all staged by João Brites.
In the musical theatre category, she participated on the plays Afinal Que Musical É Este?, Deus Pátria Revolução, Procura-se, Planeta Tupi (for children) and Cinderela – O Musical (for children). She is part of the group KaradePalko as a performer and vocal director.
In Oratorios, she performed Handel’s Ode For The Birthday Of The Queen Anne, Carissimi’s Jonas, Charpentier’s Te Deum, Hanssens Junior’s 1st and 2nd Messe Solennelle, Martin-Joseph Mengal’s Salve Regina, Jorge Salgueiro’s O Conquistador, Francisco A. Almeida’s Mass in F. She participated in several masterclasses of opera and lieder with Richard Miller, Mercè Obiol, Elisabete Matos, Loh-Siew Tuan, Ameral Gunson, Sarah Walker, Ronny Lauwers and Graham Johnson. She did also a workshop in Choreographer Theatre/Creative voice with Enrico Pardo in Sicilia (Italy).
In 2004 she was one of the winners of the “Temple Square Concert Award” in Operaplus Summer School in Belgium, and she won a recital in the Leighton House in London.
In 2012 she recorded for Naxus the opera La Spinalba with Músicos do Tejo. In 2015 she did several concerts with the ensemble Grupo de Música Contemporânea de Lisboa
(GMCL) in Portugal, Zagreb and Milan. Between 1999 and 2004 sang in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Choir (Lisbon/Portugal). She also collaborated between 2008 and 2011 with “EuropaChorAkademie” based in Germany, conducted by Joshard Daus. Since 2007, she has been singing as a soloist in Malaysia (Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Ipho) with ProMusica, and since 2011 she has been performing every year at Gala Concert in George Town Festival in Penang/Malaysia.
She did several recitals and concerts in Portugal, Belgium, London and Malaysia.
In Portugal, she works with the ensembles Melleo Harmonia directed by Jenny Silvestre and Voces Caelestes directed by Sérgio Fontão.
