Born in 1959, he completed his studies at the Conservatory of Music of Brescia, graduating with honors in Organ and Composition under the guidance of Franco Castelli. After obtaining his degree in classical studies he continued his studies at the Faculty of Arts, University of Bologna, at the D.A.M.S. in the Music section. He also studied composition and conducting with the maestro G. Cataldo.
Chief conductor of the Orchestra since 1992 Vox Aurae of Brescia, in 2003 he was given the post of Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, a position he held until December 2011. With this orchestra, over the years, has performed numerous concerts in Italy and abroad.
He has also worked with great soloists such L.G. Uriol, M. Fornaciari, A Bacchetti, S.Krylov, F. Manara, A.Persichilli, P.Hommage, E. Klein, G. Costa, U. Clerici, B. Engerer, P. Entremont, M. Rudy, E . Virsaladze, S. Mintz, U. Ughi, P. Amoyal, P. Galliano, Hiromi, Uri Caine, Ramin Bahrami, Mischa Maisky and many others, always with a wide audience and critics.
He has directed several occasions various Italian and foreign orchestras such as the Orchestra of Padua and Veneto, “The Musical Afternoons” in Milan, Italian Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese, Europa Philharmonie Orchestra in Magdeburg, “Mainzer Chamber orchestra” of Mainz, Symphony Orchestra Wroclaw (Poland), the Kiev Symphony Orchestra, the Hermitage Orchestra of St. Petersburg, the Helsinki Baroque Ensemble, Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino, I Virtuosi Italian, the “Riverside SYNPHONIE Orchestra” (New Jersey), Orchestra Philharmonie der Nationen in Festival der Nationen, Orquesta Sinfonica del Estado de Mèxico, Orchestra Sinfonica do Teatro Nacional de Brasília, Classical Orquestra da Madeira, Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Extremadura, Maracaibo Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Manaus, the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, Symphony Toronto, Istanbul Symphony Orchestra, Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Kalisz (Poland), Philarmony Hradec Kralove to “Smetana Hall” of Prague.
He also directed the prestigious orchestras Philarmonisches Chamber Munchen and London Mozart Players.
In 2009 he conducted the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese at the Teatro Alla Scala in Milan, with great public and critical success, in a concert dedicated to the reconstruction of the Eagle Municipal Theatre. With the same project in April 2010 he was a guest of the National Academy St. Cecilia at Parco della Musica in Rome. With Sinfonica Abruzzese and the clarinettist Fabrizio Meloni has recorded a CD which was released in November 2009 by the magazine “Amadeus”.
In the month of March 2012 he conducted at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Orchestra of the Carlo Felice with the pianist A. Bacchetti in a concert dedicated to the music of Bach. Mozart and Mendelssohn.
Also in 2012 he was invited by Festivals de Santander during which, the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra guide, performed the Trilogy O. Respighi, and, in world premiere, the tenth of Tomas Marco symphony.
In the operatic field he has directed various productions including, for the great success, you remember “The Marriage of Figaro” by W.A. Mozart, the “Rigoletto” by Verdi, “The Servant Mistress” by G.B. Pergolesi, “Mr. Bruschino” by G. Rossini, Elisir d ‘Amore by G. Donizetti in Seoul, “Traviata” by Giuseppe Verdi at the Teatro dell’ Opera of Tirana.
For many years he is regularly invited to conduct orchestras in Spain. Nell ‘in October 2005, he conducted the Orchestra of the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza at the Barge Music in New York where he returned in March 2006 to head the prestigious Carnegie Hall.
For the Record Company Agora Milan recorded, the Orchestra Vox Aurae guide, the complete symphonies for strings F. Durante, the first volume of Italian authors of the twentieth century who have written in the Baroque style, the symphonies for strings by J. Mysliveček, the complete symphonies for strings by FL Gassman, and a CD dedicated to the concerts for piano and orchestra by W.A.Mozart.
E ‘Artistic Director of the musical season “Symphonic Space” of Brescia. From January 2012 he was appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestra Italian Philharmonic and the Orchestra Sinfonica di Grosseto.
From 1 January 2015 he was appointed artistic director and music director of ‘Sanremo Symphony Orchestra.
