António Pedro started studying piano at the age of 12, in Prof. Eurico Rosado’s class, at the Instituto Gregoriano de Lisboa, in Lisbon. At 19, he started his undergraduate studies with Prof. Jorge Moyano at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, in Lisbon. In 2008, he completed his bachelor’s degree with the highest marks. Currently, as a student of Prof. António Rosado, he is completing his masters degree at Universidade de Évora.
António has participated in master classes with Fausto Neves, Antonio Rosado, Jurgis Karnavičius, Luiz de Moura Castro, Jörg Demus, Vitaly Margulis, Boris Berman, Paul Badura-Skoda, Sequeira Costa, Galina Eguizarova, Konstantin Scherbakov and Paul Crossley. He as performed, as a soloist, with the Orquestra do Algarve – under the direction of maestro Osvaldo Ferreira – and the Orquestra de Sopros da Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, led by maestro Alberto Roque.
In 2006 he won the 2nd prize (no 1st prize awarded) , in the “under-21” category of the XIII International Maria Campina Piano Competition, in Faro, Portugal.
