Anastasia Kobekina

Born in a family of musicians, Anastasia Kobekina received her first cello lessons when she was 4 years old. She began her studies in her hometown, Ekaterinburg, Russia and later continued in the Central Music School in Moscow. From 2012 to 2016 Anastasia was a Young Soloist at the Kronberg Academy Masters in Germany taking lessons with Prof. Frans Helmerson. Since October 2016 Anastasia has been a student in the class of Jens Peter Maintz at University of Arts in Berlin.
Following her debut with orchestra at the age of six, Anastasia has played with many orchestras, such as Moscow Virtuosi, Kremerata Baltica, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Sinfonia Varsovia, the Toulouse Symphony Orchestra and Mariinsky Theater Orchestra – under the guidance of Krzysztov Penderecki, Heinrich Schiff, Vladimir Spivakov and Valery Gergiev.
In 2015 Anastasia won the first prize at the TONALi Competition in Hamburg and became a semi-finalist at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. In September 2016 she received the second prize at the George Enescu Competition in Bucharest.
One of the main activities and passion of the young cellist is chamber music. She has been a participant of many festivals performing with such artists as Gidon Kremer, Yuri Bashmet, Giovanni Sollima, Denis Matsuev, Fazil Say, Vladimir Spivakov and Andras Schiff.
In 2012 Anastasia received a grant named after famous cellist Boris Pergamenschikov.
